Join Missouri Department of Conservation and Arrow Rock Historic Site for a lesson in campfire cooking. Participants will prepare an entire meal using Dutch Ovens and campfire cooking skills. Lesson will include the proper tools and utensils for campfire cooking, care and cleaning of cast iron and of course, sampling all of the food that is prepared.
Adults can also participate in the preparation of the meal. Children will have the option of archery shooting with site staff and the have the opportunity to make their own campfire lunch.

A family-friendly event for music lovers: the Arrow Rock Folk Jam. The event provides an open mic opportunity for acoustic musicians who want to share their music in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. At 3 p.m., the musicians will take a break as the Historic Arrow Rock Council will host its annual Ice Cream Freeze-Off on the Schoolhouse lawn. The Freeze-Off is a fundraiser that supports the arts programs of HARC. The $3 admission entitles participants to sample all the Freeze-Off entries, vote for their favorite, and fill their plates with a generous helping of ice cream and homemade desserts.
Reservations are not required, but musicians who wish to reserve a time slot should contact Sandy Selby at 660-837-3148 or president@arrowrockarts.org.
