ANAR unquestionably oversimplified the relationship between economic prosperity and the quality of public education. However, ANAR never claimed that our schools are failures, pointed out in detail areas in which American education has been enormously successful, and cautioned that Americans seem to expect that the schools can compensate for weaknesses in other institutions.
Debunkers of ANAR need debunking themselves.
