Burlington Free Press
NAEP scores positive banner headline front page. I didn't buy the paper--just
looked at the headline. Online I see that something to the effect of "need
for improvement" comes at end of first paragraph.

Rutland Herald
Front-page headline "Vermont Students Shine on National Math Tests"
again "need for improvement" at end of first paragraph.

I couldn't find any mention in either Troy (NY) Record or Albany Times Union

NY Times treated it as a national story, with NY not getting mentioned until
6th paragraph.

NY Post, which has ongoing stories about teacher stupidity and sexcapades,
didn't run it. Their front-page headlines are:

Hilary Plays Viagara Hard Ball

Deli-Massacre Suspect is Back

Sidenote: The NY Board of Ed has a running banner ad online, soliciting
people to become NY City teachers. Why they would give a dime to the NY Post,
I can't fathom.
