Indisputable to ANYone in the system: the COST of testing grades 3 - 8 EXCEEDS by far whatever Title I bully funds that systems get from *complying* w/this abomination! And, so far as remediating funding? let's let the GAO speak for us, there: massive underfunding, they say. No?

Not enough money? It has to be because of a vast right-wing conspiracy against the public schools. It couldn't be that states are trying to weasel out of their responsibilities.
The NAACP knows the truth - that NCLB is not a plot against the public schools and that states are trying to weasel out of their responsibilities - that is why NAACP is arguing in federal court that states should enforce the "letter and spirit" of NCLB.

Title I beneficiaries, on the other hand, are the children BEHIND whom this assault is marshaled. Why go to the Middle-east to see this institutionalized cowardice, marching and fighting from behind the lines of the poor, the indigent, and the disabled? the ONLY significant funding the Feds COULD target was the Title I funds, representing, by far, the largest share of Fed'l funding to public education.

Right. Providing more and more federal funds to schools that serve large numbers of poor children is a plot to Middle-Easternize the public schools. Where on earth do you come up with these bizarre conspiracy theories?

BTW, Folks: I strongly disagree w/our Dear George from ChiTown when he advocates censoring persistent provocateurs such as Art....

Telling the truth provokes only the dishonest and the deluded. Would this George who wants to censor me be the the same George who argued in Federal Court that the First Amendment gives him a right to publish test items in his newspaper and who went before the Chicago Board and claimed that he has always been a champion of the First Amendment? Could our First Amendment champion now be mongering censorship? Yup. Right here in the wild and wacky world of ARN.
