Now, Mike, I thought we had this conversation already. Parents are as
influential as they are functional. A parent who knows his or her child and
continually assesses and prescribes to that child's needs is quite
influential-- at least during childhood. (And I'm not talking pony rides and
Nintendo here, I mean monitoring outside influences and the challenges of the
world outside the family, including school.) After that, they're on there
own! It is the influence that an inattentive parent has over their child
that is questionable. Children will find direction somewhere. Good or bad?
That is the question.
