6 LONG TITLE
7 General Description:
8 This bill modifies the State System of Public
Education by prohibiting any further
9 participation in the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This bill:
12 . prohibits the State Board of Education from
further participation in the No Child
13 Left Behind Act of 2001; and
14 . prohibits local school districts from further
participation in the No Child Left
15 Behind Act of 2001.

18 Other Special Clauses:
19 This bill takes effect on July 1, 2004.

22 53A-1-410, Utah Code Annotated 1953

24 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
25 Section 1. Section 53A-1-410 is enacted to read:
26 53A-1-410. Participation in No Child Left Behind
prohibited.
27 The State Board of Education and local school
districts may not enter into a contract or

other agreement or otherwise further participate in the "No Child Left
Behind Act of 2001."
29 Section 2. Effective date.
30 This bill takes effect on July 1, 2004.
