I just ordered "Testing Miss Malarkey" on Amazon.com and can't wait to
get it. It is a book for kids 4-8 yrs. old and Mickey is right. It's
been given a 5 star rating and it focuses on how everyone, from parents
to students to teachers, are "teaching to a standardized test" and the
resulting pandemonium.

I also will use it to show that this is a "real" phenomenon, not just
something we dreamed up. And it will demonstrate to my 3rd grader that
adults can sometimes be very "stupid" and "unreasonable" with how they
deal with things.
