The main job of the students is learning; academics and
character/social
growth.
Next, come the co-curricular activities: band, orchestra, art studio
and so
on.
Following this are the extra curricular activities: sports, yearbook,
honor
society, clubs and so on.
If each student was involved as s/he should be in one, two or all three
of
these areas, where is the time for them to do "jobs"?
It sounds good, but I would have to see it in action and know the
details
before I could accept this system of "self esteem" as a genuine
experience.
We in education spend too much time with "feel good" programs and
ignore the
main responsibility of a school as outlined in the first sentence
above.
