The other misnomer that goes along with these two is "accountability." "We
must have accountability, so the tests are just a tool to that end." egad!
Nobody ever questions which side of the accountability coin our children and
families should be on-- or our teachers and local schools, for that matter.

After we had been talking for a while over lunch, my new Australian friend
said, "The American people are in danger of losing their democracy!" Yup.
