Infant mortality:

total: 53.8 deaths/1,000 live births
male: 56.35 deaths/1,000 live births
female: 51.13 deaths/1,000 live births (2006 est.)

Maybe so many Vanuatuans die so early because of this: "a majority of the population does not have access to a reliable supply of potable water." I guess the secret to happiness in Vanuatu is not living long enough to get unhappy.
