Anyone who hasn't followed my history of crying wolf about the schools and the fate of the nation can get much of it in one swell foop in the July/August issue of Stanford Magazine. The title is "Believing the Worst" and putting that in Google will bring it up. Putting "Stanford Magazine" into Google gets the whole issue which is mostly about various aspects of today's kids. "Believing the worst starts a little before Sputnik and ends debunking the numbers of Chinese and India engineers that were circulated widely over the last year. Jerry
