Re: NCLB Testimonies of the Corrupt
Accusing George Miller of aiding and abetting the destruction of public
education because he gets contributions from corporations makes as much
sense as accusing the Little Sisters of the Poor of being capitalist
exploiters because they too get contributions from corporations.
Do you really believe that teachers' unions are opposed to NCLB because
corporations contribute to George Miller's campaign? Teachers' unions
contribute to his campaign also, don't they? Does that mean that
teachers' unions are also part of the plot against public education?
Have you noticed that the civil-rights community recently rallied
against proposed legislation that would weaken NCLB's accountability
requirements, the very requirements that you claim were crafted to
destroy public education? This makes the whole "NCLB as the hammer of
oppression" argument just a wee bit untenable, don't you think?

I have plenty of evidence at my house that says he IS tied into this.
Go to his
campaign contributions. It's public. See how many corporations are on
his donor
list and how often they show up. He is the speaker for that committee.
He gets
more contributions from publishing, testing, and for-profit education
companies
than ANYONE on that panel. He is tied in to this. When presented with
this
evidence to their faces, the CTA (CALIF.) had no choice but to call him
on it
and rallied (finally) to stop the re-authorization of NCLB last fall.
He is
certainly aiding and abetting at the very least.

Is George Miller leading the destruction of public education now?
That's pretty far out even for ARN.

Here are the latest NCLB testimonies of the leading destroyers of
public
education. Now, someone tell how this "pay for performance" crap is
not
going to
destroy the original, intuitive, and creative thinking of our kids?
