this may seem off-topic, but it is being reported that Chris Dodd was asked to submit the paperwork for VP screeining (that Jim Webb refused to submit). Given Dodd's long service on HELP and the quality of his educational plan, perhaps we can hope that a VP or even a secretary of ed might be selected who can explain to Obama why his rhetoric is wrong. Apparently, despite the fact that one of the people advising him on education is Linda Darling-Hammond, this is a case where he has so locked himself in that he does not listen to or hear the criticism of his position that I am sure she is offering.

In a sense it does not surprise me. He is from Chicago, and we can look at what has been happening in Chicago public schools under the leadership of Richie Daley.
