I would say that the groups think they understand it, but clearly many do not
understand it, and surely the media in general either does not understand it
or prints it without comment. But better folks think they know what they
don't if it supports your position than let them sense that behind the
apparent simplicity of the tests and their scores is in fact technical
complexity, limited accuracy, and profound lack of validity.
