Excuse me Arthur but I don't think that the Jim Crow laws in the South
were "random" discrimination nor was the Sedition Act...do you?

So we should be randomly discriminating against white and
Asian guys to make up for random discrimination against
women and other minorities??

Richard,

I agree but as a young employed single woman who was told by her boss
that he wouldn't promote her because she "should" be home making babies
- and he said it with a straight face and at the time, there was
absolutely nothing I could do about it - except wait - until he got
fired for doing a lousy job! So until the day comes that the system is
whatever-blind, I agree that we need something to level the playing
field.

And I for one am grateful that Sandra Day O'Connor was there to help
that happen...

As much as we all would like to live in a utopian society, there is
always room to for improvement. I would like to see Color, Sex, Religion

not considered in any hiring or admission policies however as long as
the Good Old Boy Network exist, there will be a need for the government
to step in to even the playing field.

Richard.
