Hey Dude, could you help with material about Charter Schools?
I need a concise, clear, basic working understanding of them.

Charter schools are public schools. They recieve permission to operate, their "charter," from their states. They are free from some, but not all, of the bureaucratic folderol that accompanies traditional public schools. In exchange for increased freedom to innovate, Charter schools are supposed to be monitored by state and local boards of education. Charters are supposed to be renewed only for schools that are producing the desired results. Charter schools are subject to the requirements of NCLB.
