I was browsing thru some of the TIMSS math released-items. I'd have don't a lot worse than the US kids who actually took the test. There's a lot in there on algebra and geometry which I didn't hit until 9th and 10th grade, respectively. Has anyone tracked the changes over time? NCTM?
Anyone else played with these items?
I also at one point put up some material from my freshman college math text and asked people to place it in the curriculum. Junior or senior year, folks said.
On another topic, if you go to www.miamiherald.com/political-currents/story/558556.html, and scroll until you can't see the kid in the picture, just McCain, you'll see a mafia Don, fer sure.
