I'm not in Texas, but the first suggestion I would have would be to remove
the high stakes nature of the all state tests. Perhaps use them as an oral
rather than rectal thermometer, so to speak? The temperature you get might
not be as accurate, but neither is the struggle to place the measuring stick
as intense.
