When the committee was taking the testimony in different states
(unannounced to the public), from what I hear, the whole thing was
scripted. Apparently several FCAS protesters in Florida found out about
a hearing in Tallahassee and called to sign up. They were immediately
asked if they were for or against testing and told their testimony would
not be needed (actually, they were told they could not testify). I am
also told one of them did make it on the list through a backroom
connection with the governor's office, but was removed from the list at
the last minute. Since no one commented on this on this list, I presume
the same clandestine "hearings" have taken place in other states.
The Democrats are only now beginning to realize who is running the show
now, so I would not count on them raising objections at the hearings or
sneaking in a large number of testing opponents.
