I'm guesstimating that 120+ people attended a WASL information night, hosted
by Citizen's for Academics in Federal Way, last night.  Dr. Don Orlich, from
WSU, presented his indisputable (but largely ignored by the testocracy and F-
commission) evidence that WASL is off the age appropriate scale!

The number one reason for the testaholism in Washington, known as WASL: EGO!
After dining with our state super, I think this is absolutely true!  100%  We
can do anything!  We can make those children learn better, run faster, jump
higher-- and we can do it by holding a club named WASL over their heads (and,
of course, the heads of their teachers!)  Dr. Orlich offered a donation of
$2,500 to any group who would get an initiative going to stop WASL!

There were several elected officials in attendance, including Harold
Hochstatter.  A great evening, all around.  And presenters were careful to
point out that it is the high stakes nature of the test that is the worst
part!
