Many homeschoolers (like us) and some private schools do not take
voucher money partially because of the reason you state.

I wonder what kind of grant money is available to open some kind of
after-school program where children can look through encyclopedias,
books that are not on the Accelerated Reader list, go to the public
library or the beach, and have some exposure to things their teachers
can't give them at school. I don't know how many people I've talked to
who want to get their kids out of public schools because of what's been
done in the name of "accountability" and "discipline."

I've just been thinking about things lately. It's going to take time to
stop tests and vouchers, but many kids don't have much time...
