following along

Virginia is still giving Social Studies tests for which they have had to lower
the score, and for which they have never released ANY items, arguing that they
have insufficient validated items to decrease the pool by public release.

[side note - they have not had to lower scores in World Geography - they
clearly have had to lower scores for American history -- why is it so hard to
come up with sufficient valid items for American History?]

How then can the public determine if even the lowered scores to pass are
reasonable with access to the items being used to determine those scores? Why
is it that ETS can release all SAT I questions, that NY State can release all
Regents questions, and Virginia cannot release ANY social studies questions?

And the Commonwealth of Virginia will use these tests to deny high school
diplomas?
