That "psychometricians", as in "psycho."
Assuming the "p value" is the proportion of kids getting the item correct, seems ballpark OK, may be a tad on the hard side. What was the overall pass rate? "Round 50 percent, or so?

There were 25 questions on the multiple choice part. The P values
broke down as follows:
P value above .6: 7 questions
P value of .6: 3 questions
P value below .6: 15 questions
Any useful thoughts?
