"Personal Response Systems" (sometimes referred to as "clickers") are getting more attention in higher ed settings as a way to create more interactive learning environments. There's increasing interest at my university, and so far the feedback has been fairly positive. In my view, these devices open up interesting possibilities for formative assessment.

Has anyone had experience with PRS?

CTA's Institute for Teaching used these during recent briefings on preschool. I had expected using one to be a lot like taking a multiple-choice test. I found using one to be less frustrating for me as a participant than I had anticipated. It seems that a major value is in allowing presenters to evaluate the effectiveness of different parts of their program.
