As you have pointed out, some insist in defecating in the bowl they use  for 
eating.  Any effort to change their behavior from our part is simply  met with 
ignorance, and that is the way things are.  None of us can save  Art any more 
than we can say the standardistas and the reformers,  but  then like them, 
Art doesn't need to be saved.  He can tell all of us that  in two words. So it's 
better for us to use George's one word, a compound  word: Auto-delete, and 
continue to keep peace for the listserv.  Why give  in to someone's rancor and 
lack of self-respect?

Yes, I know.  I had a really bad couple of days.  I unleashed my  venom on 
him.  You have to admit, I have been restrained. of late.   But like a bad 
child,  sometimes the resistence is just too great.
 
My oldest daughter is really going through an ugly divorce.  She  married 
this fellow from the Ukraine, helped him get through residence and his  
fellowship, and all the while he was screwing around on her, we just found out  in old 
e-mails.  He's trying to wangle out of a meager divorce settlement  they 
agreed to months ago.  She's about to have a nervous breakdown. I'm  gonna get that 
bastard, just like I got that bastard Lloyd Brown, my e-boss, and  expose him 
for what he is.  At age 60 and a few months away from 61, I am  willing to go 
down in flames fighting all the assholes in the world until I take  my last 
breath.
