I have been having a debate with folks serving on the ESEA/NCLB Task Force
about whether or not NCLB is closing the achievement gap. They somehow
believe that it is, and when I have asked for their evidence, they can only
produce the NAEP report, which I know has been debunked by many. This is a
quote from one of them, and it really drives me nuts:

> Like most educational debates, one can find, interpret, and accept studies
> and reports to support all sides of the argument.

Is this TRUE? Or at some point, is there some way to reach consensus on what
is the Truth? How do you all deal with this type of response to debate?

Thank you, Diane
