Dear concerned parent,
Here are some ideas: I suggest using the PTA's, both at your child's school and at the state level. Also, try to write a letter to the editor of a local paper, call a meeting at a local library, ask candidates about their position on the MCAS, make a flyer and post it all over the place re an upcoming meeting, get some high school students involved, bring it up anywhere you can.
good luck!
Judi

Subject: mcas
I am a parent with a freshman at masocnomet high school in topsfield, ma and I am looking for other parents who are as concerned about the mcas and opposed to standardized testing. with our children's results coming out next week the time is rapidly coming that as parents we havbe to stop muttering to ouselves. I also have the double whammy of working on my masters in elem ed as well although my first and foremost concern is for my child. so, are there any other local parents out there?
