J.... What's wrong with asking for volunteers to give parents a "heads-up" that their kids are in danger of not graduating and telling them where help is available? Seems like a personal touch.

You noticed?

Your comparison between calling because a kid is sick and calling to report
on a kid's failure of the graduation test wasn't valid. The fact that they
(feel they) have to bring in the volunteer troops to handle a 50% failure
rate on a test that is a graduation requirement is also invalid and just
plain weird!
