No maybe about it. For example, the achievement of the average
African-American 12th grader measures at the achievement of the average White 9th grader.
Clearly justice and equity demand that Americans enshrine in law the noble
goal of closing this gap. It's a good thing educators are rallying around
legislation to close the gap and not resorting to phony and toxic tactics like
suing to block it because it is an "unfunded mandate." No responsible
educators would stoop that low, would they, neaguy?
