Bill Gates' dad did okay, but was a self made man....no family wealth. My 
middle class mom was friends with Gates Senior, and their moms were close 
friends in Bremerton (not too far from Seattle)...once when we were passing 
through, my mom pointed out the home Bill Gate's dad was raised 
in....typical middle class. Like my mom, who was in the WACS, Bill Senior 
also occupied Japan after the war...where their paths crossed again, I think 
for the last time. Then he went on to a successful career, but was never a 
multi-muti-millionaire until he bought stock in his own son's corporation.

ANYWAY....how can we get Bill Gates to realize that making tougher standards 
is NOT the way to improve education. That is the hard question of the day!!
