You may not have had much experience with Art. Art doesn't discover or
uncover ideas so much as he invents them or recasts them for his own
convenience. He's a mean spirited old fellow who is totally blinded by his
rightist ideology. Don't pay him much mind.

I'm not sure where in the op ed you get the sense we are trying to re-start
the reading wars.
Whichever way you look at DIBELS, it's an invalid indicator of reading
skills. And scripted programs cannot provide instruction that promotes
deep, critical literacy skills.
