Pretty much all the material that FairTest has on national tests is on our website, under national testing and under assessment reform network - case against high-stakes testing, as well as back issues of the FairTest Examiner. We have not updated our website in response to the latest push for a national test, and some of the older material, dating from Clinton and Bush I national test proposals, may be somewhat out of date or no longer posted - we need to get that material updated, indeed, and will as soon as we can.

What information do you have on the pros and cons of national tests and
national standards? Just watched a gubernatorial debate and our incumbent
Republican governor is promoting this as a way of addressing reform, saying
that the reason we are doing so badly is that we have bad standards and bad
tests at the state level.

Thank you.
