Yeah, maybe I am delusional. It makes too much sense in the educational climate of today- therefore forget about it.

As if ALL children want to play instruments, act in plays, or garden. And as if those are the essential components of what it means to be "middle class" and as if those are the reasons why "middle class" children score higher on tests than disdvantaged children. Disadvantaged children need many things, but they need schools that will teach them better. If schools are making better teaching into test prep, we need better people in the schools. Blaming NCLB, the Business Roundtable, or standardized tests is an exercise in silliness.
