Re: The Art of Prattle
Yeah, reading for details is a Promethean challenge, all right.?
Apart from that, you might consider whether your habits of personalizing everything, reading knavery and criminality into people whose ideas you don't like, and making wild assumptions about those you know nothing about are desirable habits for an educator, on whatever continent.? Finally, if you're depressed, get help instead of venting on listservs.?

Subject: [arn-l] The Art of Prattle
[Art spat out this spiteful and malicious crap while attempting to make some
point, unknown to me:]
I find it incongruous that someone who is arguing against an adverse tenure
decision would publicly announce such outlandish conclusions about a study that
he admits he hasn't read carefully.? This must be a new litigation strategy.
Art
[Prometheus gags and spits back in disgust:]
I find it unbelievable that you are still plying the same prattle, now, for all
these years, Art; while I have read and kept pace w/this list discourse, mutely
ignoring your vapid contributions! You must have gotten tired playing that
broken record you call a mind, by now. Not?
I said that I *scanned* the report for a specific item. *Scanning* IS a useful
and necessary type of reading, my man! It's a skill few have, and fewer can do
well, yet invaluable, particularly in these informatic times where what one
needs to read is growing at exponential rates from moment to moment.
IF I want to read for details, I will do that at another time, as I said. Can
YOU find me any details concerning *Participant Dropout Rate* in this study?
Read it for detail if you like, you tiresome old man...you will find NONE! This
was my point.
On the other hand, I also say now that when I WISH to criticize methodology,
analysis, or any other dimension of this study, and when I report it, I WILL
have read it for details and you can bet that my findings will be just as
correct and well-founded as the one point I made, last post.
So far as my tenure arbitration: it is a separate issue, and I shared it with
frioends, this list. That's why I introduced it w/a GREAT BIG *BTW*, you dolt!
Your not being one of my friends, nor apparently one interested in hwat I've
been dong in this strggle these past several years, only should have left you
ignoring my post. But, No! for whatever reason, you decided to attempt to insult
me and disparage my loss and grief at being way from my loved ones while I
ensure their standard of living is, in fact, increased as a consequence of my
actions in Utica, NY and, then, here in Kuwait.
But, then again, for someone such as you, who, when asked to chew gum AND go
upstairs at the same time, must either spit out the gum or stand still on the
landing, I suppose any two thoughts juggling inside that bonehead of yours will
apear *incongruous*.
Art: for a one trick poney such as yourself, I find it incongruous that you
can put two neurons together and try to come to ANY sort of a conclusion,
whatsoever. But, then again, what does or could it matter WHAT you find
incongruous?
I made my point concerning the study as I was asked by Jim & Ken AND I replied
to dear George Schmidt's query as to my whereabouts these past several
years...what IS your point? and what does it have to do w/the purpose of this
list?
I know what your purpose is, you Flatlander: disrupt, blow smoke, muddy the
waters, and attempt to appear to have accomplished something in your life other
than rubber stamping and *ss-kissing.
I'll get my case won AND get this NCLB out of the AmeriKKKan lexicon and
curriculum. And you? what will you have accomplished with your life and done, by
then? but wasted your and our time while we effect our goals?
Bush and this corporate, fascist state don't have the guts nor stamina to get
much more done with this tired attempt at ruining the American Curriculum. On to
the next phase of the fight, I suppose...and we will meet them, there, as here,
on the battlefield and on-going struggle for the American Curriculum!
What a complete bore you are, Art Burke...I'm out here exiled in Kuwait,
teaching, consulting, tutoring, and continuing my craft as an educator, awash in
tears & sweat, and fighting depression and the consequences of a fight not yet
finished that I will yet have the last say, all-the-while sending my money back
to my wife and kids and biding my time as my case is arbitrated.
And YOU?
I hope you HAVE a family with whom to share, if they can stomach you or even
have decided to stay with you this late in your life. I'm sure you've spent your
life so safe and unchallenging, while displacing the despair at it against those
near to you (as we are, this list, and as you have with us, as well) that your
retirement, bought & paid for by the taxpayers, will come to you as easily as
have your principles been lost from you the moment you were hired for your
first, and probably only position: prostation before and supplication to the
powers that be...
But, what would YOU know about sacrifice and commitment to a cause, you useless
fool? ;-} rap.
