Re: Wondering if anyone has info to share about NLNS
A lady writes in here that her daughter is suicidal and a FairTest
activist tells her to get active in anti-testing groups, another
Fairtest activist threatens mob violence against someone whose opinions
he doesn't like and you call this a "wise community? Can't wait to see
your essays.

I would expect that George Schmidt would, since they are active in
Chicago.
I am talking about New Leaders for New Schools, which will take
selected people
in turn them in to certified principal within a bit more than a year.
I have
been heavily recruited to apply: they operate in Baltimore, DC, and in
my own
district of Prince George's County.
I am aware of their focus on data and on test scores, so that I already
know. I
am interested in any direct experience people here may have had, or
observations
of what you have seen. The early filing deadline is October 25. I am
seriously considering applying, although I would suspect I would not be
a good
fit for them. For one thing, I am already 61, and they so far have
only taken
people through their mid-50s/ I have been to an information session
and was
still encouraged to apply even after they met me!!! And the principal
recruiter
in Washington has seen my resume, and knows about my blogging, and is
still
encouraging me to apply.
So before I kill myself writing a series of essays (There are three I
would
still have to do) and polishing my shor answers, I thought I would
reach out to
this wise community and see what anyone has to say about the
organization.
If you are curious, their website is
