STANDARDIZED HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAMS PUT STATES TO THE TEST

"How do we not hold kids to that standard and work like hell to get kids
up to it?" says Mike Cohen of Achieve, a group created by business
interests and governors.

How do we not do what's best for kids? Easy. Keep schools closed when they should be open, don't do a very good job of training teachers, monitoring their work, and rewarding excellence, don't make changes in schools where changes are needed, don't spend more money, and don't fight the special interests that put themselves ahead of parents and children. That's not so hard, is it?
