I wanted to respond to Karen's post which I lost (deleted too quickly) responded to Deanna, suggestiing that if she wanted to be part of responsible use of tests, that she refuse to sell her tests to those who will misuse them. I wonder if by so doing, she would inevitably go out of business, leaving only those who don't understand the role and limitations of testing in the test-making business, and would this leave us better off? I'm not sure.
