Gee, Art. I hope you don't turn out to be like some people I experienced at Educationnews. They would ask a series of questions, much like you have been doing with Juanita, inviting the other person
to extended commentary WITHOUT OFFERING ANY OPINION OF THEIR OWN. Shortly thereafter they would take what had been offered and attempt to use it to belittle or attack the other.
I would not make this remark, except for the sentence that begin "you seem to long." Since Juanita has already offered you an extended response to your first question, why don't you demonstrate that
you are serious about dialog by offering one of equivalent length and thoughtfulness? Are you unwilling to abide by the same standard you are asking from others?
If I have misinterpreted your intent, then I apologize. And I certainly do not mean to judge you by the actions of others. You should recognize, however, that the interchange between you and Juanita
so far has enough possible red flags in its structure to make even a third party observer wonder.
Disclosure: without naming names from Educationnews, since there is some overlap between that board and this listserv, my own experience was not a totally public exchange as this open has been. I
always list my e-mail on posts. As I result I have had some people contact me, very politely, inviting me into off-board dialog. Lo and behold, within a few exchanges, in at least two cases, my words
privately were being quoted out of context as an intended weapon against me. I am, perhaps overly so, hence very edgy when I see only one person contributing to a dialog. I am also edgy when one
person offers details as did Juanita, and the response back seems ot belittle that: "educational Nirvana." [parenthetical thought, why note educational Valhalla or educational Paradisio? What's with
the misplaced and misinterpreted Buddhist Reference?].
Sorry if I offended you Art.
