But, Art, my hero would still leave the major question unanswered: if kids
leave high school with dulled minds, how do colleges shine them up?
And "remediation" is not the answer. Definitions of remediation vary, but
here in VA fewer than 4% of students in 4-year instutitions are in remedial
courses. Many more take remedial courses in community colleges.
