Children always do well ........ until adults become involved in their games
and introduce "rules" as they see fit. Childhood is a sacred time in one's
life and should be gently nurtured and, generally, left alone. Mike R.

sorry- I never finished my thoughts but it got sent anyway.
To make a long story very short- Just about ALL early childhood literature
points to age-appropriate, developmentally-appropriate practices in pre-k
and
kindergarten ie. lots of play oriented, hands-on experiences filled with
nurturing adults, music, art, movement, good literature and the good old
outdoors.
The powers that be are clearly unfamiliar with the field of early childhood.
When you try to make children do what is inappropriate the results are
obvious- unhappy, defiant, fidgety, "ADD" diagnosed kids who can't sit
still, pay
attention or learn up to par with the STANDARDS.
