The ":Blueberries" is a story told on himself by Jamie Vollmer, who at the
time
the incident happened was CEO of the Great Midwestern Ice Cream Company and
thought education should be run like a business. He now is strongly
opposed to
such an approach, and is a fierce advocate of public education. He was the
principal speaker at the education panel I put together at the yearlykos
2006
convention in Las Vegas in June (Gov. Tom Vilsack and I were also on the
panel). To read the story, you can go to http://www.jamievollmer.com to read
about what Jamie and we said at the panel, you can go tohttp://www.dailykos
com/story/2006/6/17/61937/2832
and be sure to scroll through the comments to one by Chun Yang which
describes
the Q&A session, on which since I was active i did not have good notes.
