I'll plead guilty to name-calling but it was truly just meant in harmless fun while at the same time making a point. Perhaps on my very first post to this list, I took undue liberties. But as to name-calling, am I really a "LOSER" for recognizing NCLB and its high-stakes testing for the crock it truly is? I'll call a spade a spade. Yes indeed, all skaters can show courage by attempting to spin low to the ground and taking the risk. They deserve as much credit, if not more, than those who can skate with ease. And they can continually improve. But not all can win the proficient Gold.

And if it weren't for those infernal mainstream educators, every last one of those speed skaters, competing against one another, would win the Olympic Gold at the same Olympic Games in the same record time. In keeping with rigorous standards, why even "dwarfly dumbkopfs" should know how and be able to achieve the Gold. There are no excuses for the soft bigotry of low skating expectations.
How very true, indeed!!! The "lower" you skate and spin close to the ground, the more risk you take, the more courage you show.
On the other hand, a track record based on birth legacy, AWOL commitment to your country, and absence of intelligence and imagination doesn't really give anyone's leadership much credibility.
At some point in time, rewarding failure when the failing student continues to spin his missing assignments on "the dog ate my homework" ceases being humorous. That's why the name-calling on our listserv deserves to be deleted. Allowing losers to repeat their losing mantra is indeed soft bigotry.
