Spellings is delivering at 10 a talk to a business group on NCLB, to be followed by Miller and McKeon in response.
Spellings text is on the Department website at
http://www.ed.gov/news/pressreleases/2007/09/09052007.html Lotsof the usual rhetoric and very vague about the discussion draft - maybe more will come out in questions to her and others.
I have not heard it will be broadcast.

NCLB Mini-Summit
By noon tomorrow [that is noon on Weds Sept 5] we'll know more about the future of the House education committee's NCLB draft .
By then, Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings will have delivered a speech entitled "No Child Left Behind: Moving Forward." I'm betting she'll outline her position on multiple measures, differentiated interventions, and other issues in the draft.
After Spellings speaks, Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., and Rep. Howard P. "Buck" McKeon, R-Calif., are scheduled to give responses. I hope we'll get a sense of how committed they are to the details in their "work in progress." A special education advocate and a local superintendent will appear on the panel with the lawmakers.
The event starts at 10 a.m. at 101 Constitution Ave., NW, in Washington. I'll update this blog tomorrow afternoon.
