Dear colleagues,
I am in the midst of a wee project, and trying to remember a poem, which
someone might be able to help me with. It's called, I think, "Children
of Sacaton," though I don't recall the author.
It's a series of metaphors, with the poem's speaker obviously being the
Poet in the Schools trying to teach the kids... What is the moon "like"?
with a whole series of rather tame, indoor comparisons.
The children, Native Americans, have the last word, understanding much
more potent power about what the moon "is" or "is like."
Can anyone help me identify the author and source?
Thanks in advance,
Elizabeth
