Here's what I sent to Miller in case you want to email piggy backing so he
gets the same-ish message from a number of people:

Thank you for your diligent and ethical pursuit of the truth about the
implementation of Reading First, particularly in your exposure of the rampant
conflicts of interest among the "researchers." I understand that a comment
from my second book, In Defense of Our Children: When Politics, Profit and
Education Collide was read into the Congressional Record. I stated that when
preparing for a presentation on Reading First, I tried to construct a flow
chart linking the key researchers to the companies representing their own
vested financial interests and that when I came to Edward Kame'enui, I "ran
out of colors." That is a true story. I sat there scratching my head because
the flow chart was so tangled that it looked like something from another
  dimension.

I've been involved in exposing this debacle from the time the Report of the
National Reading Panel was released in 2001. Exposing those manipulations and
misrepresentations has been my white whale for all these years and at last,
someone has had the courage to take these guys on. Just as an aside,
Kame'enui has consistently refused to reveal how much he makes from his
various and sundry entrepreneurial research studies. At one meeting in
Oregon, a friend of mine asked him how much he received in royalties from his
own products that he had researched using federal dollars and in the name of
independent research. He answered "None of your business." This is our
  business.

My fear is that they will stonewall or throw research terminology at you and
that you may not have the background to address it. If you need any help in
that area, I will be glad to offer you my services. I know the Report of the
National Reading Panel inside out. I can recite sections and the
contradictions within it verbatim. I just finished another book based on
--not just the NRP report--- but on what other federal research really says
  about teaching reading as well.

If I can help you in any way, I would be honored to assist. If you need my
books, I'll send them. Either way, I know I'm speaking for many, many
teachers AND children when I say, thank you for your courage and diligence in
  working for us.
