AERA-G: Social Context of Education Forum

I have created a BLOG dealing with education reform issues. It was created in connection with a book I recently published on reform. I welcome participation by interested persons.
The BLOG has a slant, of course. Most postings deal with a collection of observations about the current scene in education reform, among which are the following:

1. The major education reform initiatives are not about "quality" at all; they are about cutting taxes and securing public funds for private privileges.

2. The reforms up for public debate today are the end product of 100 years of demographic and cultural evolution in this country. Neither the debate, the nature of the reforms, nor the trajectory being followed by public education is easily altered.
3. The pressure to cheapen public education and re-
segregate it along class and racial lines is likely to increase.
