rich on the poor, sharpening exploitation.

Intensified racism, everywhere.

Use of government as an executive committee of the rich and an armed 
weapon against the poor, everywhere.

Rising irrationalism and the eradication of reason (education)as in 
the booming Christofascists, Islamofascists, etc (and Catholic 
payoffs, penance for decades of systematic rape of children coupled 
with demands from the priests for more donations).

International warfare growing with each tin pot dictator recognizing 
that what keeps the rogue US empire at bay is a bomb, and big bombs 
in the hands of wacko Israeli Zionists, Hindu nationalists in India, 
the failing state of Pakistan, etc.

The militarization of the world and its schools, but especially the 
vast Chinese Red (not) Army and the revival of Russian and Japanese 
militarism as well---all as desperate as the US military (most 
expensive in the universe) for those precious Caspian and Middle East 
Oil Fields.

Hopelessness and despair infecting poor and working people, perhaps 
because of the complete betrayal of Marxism by the corrupt USSR and 
Chinese governments.

The emergence of fascism as a vast, popular, worldwide movement 
taking on particular aspects for region to region.

Last, people in pacified areas become instruments of their own 
oppression, as in volunteer recruits in the US military, really 
drafted by the economy, who think they are volunteers, and go back 
for more---but the fightbacks seeking to connect reason to power are 
beginning, from China to New Orleans, people begin to resist. .

And an unworthy note, the UT guts its newsroom, claiming smaller is 
better, rather like the fog that lies over all SD news.
