Friends,
On behalf of the Rouge Forum and the planning
committee, thank you for your interest in the
Rouge Forum Conference to be held in Louisville
at both Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville, March 13-16.
Featuring:
over 30 papers (and growing),
more than 50 presenters,
3 panel discussions (No Child Left Unrecruited?,
Revolutionary/Radical Pedagogy, Student
assignment in Jefferson County after the Supreme Court decision),
3 main addresses (Dr. Milton Brown, Dr. Rich
Gibson, and, our keynote, Dr. E. Wayne Ross),
2 professional developments (on critical literacy and green education), and
2 cultural events (at the Jazz Factory and at the
Red Barn at U of L, featuring spoken word, music,
and other dramatic performances),
we expect an opportunity to learn, live, and grow
as a community over this mid-March weekend in
consideration of our conference themeEducation: Reform or Revolution?
We would like to encourage you now to please
register for the conference by going to the
conference website:
<
http://www.rougeforumconference.org/>www.rougeforumconference.org.
Presenters, this is particularly important for
you in order that we can finalize the
conference/session schedules. Please do so by February 15, 2008, if possible.
Please check the developing session schedule at
the conference site. Some sessions are still in
the process of shifting given requests by some of
the presenters. We hope to finalize this
shortly, making sure there are no other requests to move sessions.
I am also aware that some local professors and
teachers will be bringing their classes to the
conference. Registration will, of course, be free
for these students whose Teachers/Professors
mandate their attendance at the
conference. We?ll be happy to keep a sign-in at
the registration desk for you. If the students
will want a boxed lunch, however, for either day,
we would like them to register and pay the
$8/lunch. Please encourage all students to register if they plan to have lunch.
Please also forward this conference information
to anyone else you think would be interested in attending.
We look forward to seeing you in Louisville in March.
Stay tuned for further updates.
In solidarity. adam
