Minnesota state senators to make bid to opt out of NCLB Some Republican lawmakers in Minnesota will introduce a proposal to end the state's participation in NCLB -- a move under which the state may forfeit $250 million annually in federal education funding -- saying the money saved by not participating could reduce the financial impact.
