Just back from Sacramento. The Senate Ed Committee approved AB45, giving local control back to Oakland. Unfortunately, theres a new amendment which gives Jack OConnell (State Sup) control over deciding when to give us back financial control (the most important of the 5 areas). Politics is compromise, eh?
